Privacy Policy

What we collect

To provide the service we process:

• Your WhatsApp phone number, used to identify your account and route replies.
• The content of messages you send to our number, used only to extract expense details such as amount, merchant, category, and date.
• The Google account authorization you grant so we can write rows to the Sheet you choose.
• Basic service logs such as timestamps and delivery status, used for reliability and abuse prevention.

What we do not do

• We do not sell or rent your personal data to anyone.
• We do not use your expense data for advertising.
• We do not keep a copy of your ledger. Extracted expenses are written to your Google Sheet and message content is deleted from our systems shortly after processing.
• We do not read messages you send to anyone else. We only receive messages addressed to the ExpenseTracker number.

How your data is used

Message content is processed by our AI models solely to extract expense fields and to answer questions you ask about your own spending. Aggregated, de-identified usage statistics, such as overall message volume, may be used to improve reliability and accuracy.

Google Sheets access

We request the minimum Google permission needed to create and edit the specific spreadsheet used for your expenses. You can revoke this access at any time from your Google account security settings, which immediately stops all writing to your Sheet.

Data retention and deletion

Account records are kept while your account is active. If you delete your account, we remove your phone number, authorizations, and service logs within 30 days. Your Google Sheet is yours and is never touched by deletion; it stays in your Google Drive.

Security

All data is encrypted in transit and at rest. Access to production systems is limited to a small number of authorized staff and is logged. WhatsApp messages are additionally protected by WhatsApp's own end to end encryption between your device and WhatsApp.

Your rights

Depending on where you live, you may have rights to access, correct, export, or delete your personal data, and to object to certain processing. To exercise any of these, message us on WhatsApp or email privacy@expensetracker.io. We respond within 30 days.

Children

ExpenseTracker is not directed at children under 16 and we do not knowingly collect their data. If you believe a child has used the service, contact us and we will delete the account.

Changes and contact
